The Opportunity
We are seeking an individual to join our fast paced as Manager - Manufacturing Support (KL) and in this role, you will be responsible you will be responsible for managing the activities and provide technical leadership in Manufacturing for targets to be met and to implement improvements in the Manufacturing areas to optimise efficiency and support continuous improvement of the manufacturing operations.
This role will require you to collaborate with various functional groups locally and/or globally to accomplish organizational and business objectives. Key responsibilities include ensuring that product quality and reliability meet expectations, driving continuous improvement activities and projects, reducing costs through ongoing cost-reduction efforts, and implementing effective and efficient risk management strategies.
Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for hiring and retaining a diverse, highly qualified staff and for providing career coaching, growth and personal development.
  • Provides the first point of contact for Manufacturing on yield, quality, and throughput issues.
  • Provides solutions to identified production problems.
  • Analyses Manufacturing rejects as required to reclaim where possible, identify, and rectify root causes of rejects.
  • Ensures NCR's, and Concessions are processed accurately and effectively.
  • Ensures adherence and compliance to the Quality System and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Identifies opportunities for safety, quality, and cost improvements on the Manufacturing lines.
  • Responsible for hiring and retaining a diverse, highly qualified staff and for providing career coaching, growth and personal development.
  • Monitors operations with an eye toward improving yield, scrap, productivity and efficiency.
  • Designs efficient production processes and workflows.
  • Ensures that processes are designed to ensure that products meet quality standards.
  • Reduces waste and addresses production issues.
  • Evaluates data to implement technological improvements in production processes.
  • Implements controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues.
  • Works with other departments to develop design and production standards.
  • Ensures that work processes are safe and addresses safety issues and concerns.
Position Specific Skills and Challenges

  • Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards in the field or industry
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and supply-chain management
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Just In Time (JIT) strategizing

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Organizational, planning, and documentation skills
  • Adept at using presentation software and presenting complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders

  • Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms
  • Experience using System Applications and Products (SAP) software.

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field such as Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant work experience in a Medical device manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma and CI knowledge, experience in a high tech or medical product manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and productively with others.
  • Demonstrated personal computer skills including spreadsheet skills, word processing, data base management and other relevant project management applications.
  • Good interpersonal skills and written communication in English.
