Position Overview: A Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to procure goods and services that meet the company’s quality and cost requirements. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery, and continuously seeking cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying and Researching Suppliers:
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers.
Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery capabilities.
Negotiating Contracts and Prices:
Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers.
Ensure all agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.
Managing Supplier Relationships:
Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Address any issues or disputes that arise with suppliers.
Collaborating with Internal Departments:
Work closely with departments like procurement, production, and logistics.
Understand and anticipate the needs of different departments.
Identifying Cost-Saving Opportunities:
Analyze costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses.
Find alternative suppliers to improve cost efficiency.
Managing Purchase Orders:
Handle the entire purchase order process, from issuing orders to tracking deliveries.
Ensure accurate documentation and filing of purchase orders.
Monitoring Supplier Performance:
Track and evaluate supplier performance using metrics like on-time delivery and product quality.
Provide feedback to suppliers and make decisions about future partnerships.
Staying Updated with Market Trends:
Keep up with market trends, new products, and technologies.
Use market insights to improve sourcing strategies.
Experience:
Relevant Experience: 2-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in the specific industry (e.g., manufacturing, retail, technology) can be beneficial.
Skills:
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, market trends, and supplier performance.
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and prices.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for managing supplier relationships and collaborating with internal teams.
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in contracts and purchase orders.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to resolve issues and disputes with suppliers effectively.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business related area or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2-3 years of sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in pulling data and report creation in an ERP computer system preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office: Word and PowerPoint required. Advanced excel skills required.
- Proven strong communication and data analysis skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
