Production Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet deadlines, ensuring alignment with inventory levels and customer demand.
- Coordinate workflow across departments (e.g., procurement, logistics, quality control) to optimize resource allocation.
- Process Coordination
- Monitor daily production activities to ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot bottlenecks or delays, collaborating with supervisors and technicians to resolve issues promptly.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and update production reports, including output metrics, downtime analysis, and efficiency trends.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, material usage, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Resource Management
- Track raw material and equipment availability, liaising with procurement and warehouse teams to prevent shortages.
- Assist in forecasting material requirements for upcoming production cycles.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary point of contact between production teams, engineering, and senior management.
- Facilitate communication to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and regulatory compliance.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, industrial engineering, supply chain, or a related field (preferred).
- Equivalent work experience may substitute for formal education.
- Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Project).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience
- 2+ years of experience in production planning, operations coordination, or a similar role within manufacturing.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or process optimization is a plus.
Work Environment
- Location: On-site in a manufacturing facility, with occasional office work.
- Physical Demands: May require walking production floors, lifting light objects, or standing for extended periods.
- Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility for overtime or shift adjustments based on production demands.
