Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Being the recognized expert for global market information: long term supply, demand, capacity, price, market segments, competition, short and long-term market trends, and environmental and/or regulatory implications.
  • Developing negotiation strategies and driving negotiations to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Developing and documenting negotiation and contracting process consistent with commodity strategy.
  • Own communication for contract data across global teams.
  • Leverage supplier capabilities and business opportunities on a domestic and international basis.
  • Primary owner for the supplier relationship. With technology partners, and in accordance with the commodity strategy, drive supplier selection, development and overall supplier management.
  • Work with suppliers to drive improvement on all areas measured within the supplier scorecard.
  • Drive global supply base consolidation analysis, planning and implementation.
  • Leverage your extensive knowledge of data analytics, excel and presentation skills to execute your job and provide executive ready communication quickly.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years Global Commodity Management or related experience in Industrial Gases & Chemicals
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, to achieve requested timing and quality of assigned tasks.
  • Experience with supplier development: quality system, process, supplier management
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications a plus

Skills

  • Strategic business process leadership, innovative, results oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate with senior management, internally and externally, for effective commodity strategy execution is highly preferred.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, to achieve requested timing and quality of assigned tasks
  • Excellent negotiating and communication skills.
  • Familiar with Strategic Sourcing Process
  • Quantitative analysis skills
  • Ability to network and sustain good working relationships
  • Strong data analysis skills and project management skills
  • Strong Microsoft tools skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Knowledge and experience with analytical tools
  • Ability to communicate with senior management, internally and externally, for effective commodity strategy execution is highly preferred
  • Willingness to travel and join international conference calls potentially at night to accommodate international divisions and suppliers.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications a plus
  • Self-motivated with good time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

  • This role is 100% hybrid / remote
  • Up to 15-20% travel is possible
