Job Summary The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and services to ensure the proper functioning of medical devices and equipment. This role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of medical devices at customer sites while ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with company and regulatory standards. Key Job Responsibilities 1. Installation and Calibration: Install, set up, and calibrate biomedical equipment and devices at healthcare facilities. 2. Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements to ensure equipment reliability and longevity. 3. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems with biomedical equipment, utilizing technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and software interfaces. Identify root causes of malfunctions and implement corrective actions to restore equipment functionality promptly. 4. Quality Assurance: Follow quality standards, regulations, and best practices in all service tasks. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations like MDA, ISO, and GDPMD to maintain patient safety and equipment reliability. 5. Documentation: Keep detailed records of service work, including logs, reports, and equipment info. Note what was found, fixed, and used during each visit. Share detailed updates with management and customers as needed. 6. Daily Report: After completing tasks, update daily reports using WhatsApp or team apps to ensure records are current. 7. Customer Support: Assist healthcare staff with technical issues, including weekends, by promptly and professionally addressing their inquiries and concerns. Rotate standby duty on weekends to respond swiftly to emergencies 8. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including biomedical engineering, sales, and FAS, to address complex technical issues, escalate unresolved problems, and provide feedback for product improvement and development. 9. Communication: Keep the Head of Department and team members informed about work-related inquiries, information, and task status. Notify them if tasks are incomplete or if overtime is needed to complete the job, including emergencies. 10. Warehouse FSE: Manage incoming and outgoing instruments and perform stock counts for all items. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the engineer warehouse for a productive work environment. 11. To undertake any ad-hoc assignments as directed by the superior. Job Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or related field. 2. Proven experience in field service, technical support or related roles. 3. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills. 4. Familiarity with ISO 17025 standards and its application. 5. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. 6. Excellent communication and customer service skills. 7. Must have own transport and willing to travel extensively within Malaysia.
