Project Manager for EMS

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager with strong software development skills to lead the development and implementation of our new Education & Learning Management System (LMS/EMS), incorporating blockchain and AI/ML technologies. You will also be the sole developer responsible for enhancing and maintaining our current EMS, focusing on improvements and break fixes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing software projects in the education technology sector, possess excellent communication and leadership skills, and be passionate about delivering high-quality learning experiences. This is an on-site position in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. The position will begin with a 3-month trial contract, with the potential for conversion to a permanent role based on performance and company needs. This role reports directly to the CTO within the Digital and Technology department. Responsibilities: • Project Management (New LMS/EMS): o Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for the new LMS/EMS in collaboration with stakeholders. o Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. o Manage project execution, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. o Identify and manage project risks and dependencies. o Implement and maintain project management processes and best practices. o Oversee the integration of blockchain and AI/ML technologies into the new LMS/EMS. • Software Development (Current EMS): o As the sole developer for the current EMS, you will be fully responsible for its enhancement and maintenance, focusing on system improvements and resolving defects. o Analyze existing code, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions. o Perform troubleshooting and debugging to address issues and ensure system stability. o Manage and prioritize development tasks for the current EMS. • Stakeholder Management: o Effectively communicate project status (new LMS/EMS) and development progress (current EMS) to stakeholders. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and engineering. o Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • LMS/EMS Implementation & Support (New System): o Oversee the deployment and integration of the new LMS/EMS platform. o Provide training and support to end-users on the new system. o Monitor system performance of the new LMS/EMS and address any issues. • Continuous Improvement: o Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and tools. o Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in the education technology space, particularly in blockchain and AI/ML. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. • Experience: o 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on software development projects. o Proven experience in managing the development and implementation of education and learning management systems. o Extensive hands-on experience in software development, with proficiency in [List specific languages/technologies, e.g., Python, Java, React, Node.js]. o Experience with blockchain technologies (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric) and their application in software development (for the new LMS/EMS). o Experience with AI/ML algorithms and libraries in Python (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) (for the new LMS/EMS). • Skills: o Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). o Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. o Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Passion for education and technology. o Ability to work independently and manage individual development tasks effectively.
