Job Overview: The Operations Manager will plan, supervise, and monitor operational activities to improve efficiency and achieve operational excellence targets within the Operation Malaysia's operating plan and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Policies and Procedures
- Develop and implement manufacturing-related policies and procedures to ensure alignment with government regulations and corporate standards.
2. People Management and Development
- Allocate and balance work among team members, empowering subordinates to enhance their skills.
- Provide regular, constructive performance feedback to direct reports.
- Mentor team members, offering both technical and non-technical training.
- Create succession plans and individual development plans, ensuring effective execution.
- Prepare manpower plans, participate in candidate interviews, and contribute hiring insights.
- Conduct management skills improvement sessions and resolve team-related issues to enhance department performance and retain key talent.
3. Production Capacity Planning
- Develop a production capacity plan based on business forecasts to improve manufacturing efficiency and support operational excellence.
4. Manufacturing Management
- Oversee Assembly, Molding, Stamping operations, EHS, Facility, and Tooling maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Project Engineering, Materials, and ME to resolve operational issues and update ASEAN Operations Manager on critical matters.
5. Key Engineering Capability Development
- Allocate resources and provide guidance for key engineering capability projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency and meet operational excellence goals.
6. TEOA (TE Operation Advantage) Activities
- Co-lead TEOA initiatives to improve manufacturing processes and achieve operation excellence.
7. Production Quality System and EHS
- Maintain and monitor the production quality system, ensuring it aligns with EHS policy to improve efficiency and ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and experienced in E&E industry
- More than 10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 8 years in general operational management
- Hands-on experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), production line setup, and manpower arrangement
- Mandarin proficiency is an advantage, as this role involves collaboration with Chinese counterparts
