We are seeking a highly driven and entrepreneurial Assistant Manager for Merchant Business Development with a passion for e-commerce and experience in merchant acquisition. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales, knowledge of the retail or e-commerce industry, and the ability to build and manage merchant relationships while driving business growth.

Job Descriptions Responsibilities:

Develop in-depth knowledge of business products, processes, and operations, becoming a subject matter expert while staying up-to-date on industry trends.

Research organizations and individuals online, especially on social media, to identify new sales leads and potential markets.

Understand merchants’ needs and identify decision-makers.

Contact potential merchants via email or phone to establish rapport, set up meetings, and cultivate new business relationships.

Develop and execute marketing plans to retain existing merchants and reach new markets. Support marketing initiatives such as events, social media, content marketing, and email campaigns.

Coordinate and oversee marketing and community events, managing logistics, vendors, and merchants to ensure the timely execution of marketing plans and materials.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential merchants, providing customer support to ensure their satisfaction and retention.

Pitch, acquire, and manage merchant accounts, negotiating favorable margins and agreements while advising merchants on go-to-market strategies for new products and assortments.

Collaborate with internal teams and the marketing department to support campaigns, promotions, and the curation of SKUs, ensuring success across both online and offline channels.

Develop sales strategies and plans; lead merchant onboarding processes, including API integration, and approach new merchants to close deals.

Plan, conceptualize, and execute promotional and marketing campaigns in collaboration with merchant partners.

Analyze performance data and develop initiatives to increase revenues and profitability for the merchant portfolio.

Contribute to business strategy planning, working closely with content and product teams to align campaign and promotional efforts with merchant needs.

Stay abreast of market trends and industry developments, revising strategies to meet changing merchant requirements and market conditions

Requirements:

Minimum Degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, or a related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales, lead generation, or business development roles (preferred).

Proficiency in Bahasa, English, and Mandarin is advantageous.

Proven experience in merchant acquisition and management within the e-commerce or retail industry.

Strong sales experience with a track record of exceeding targets.

Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Strong people skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external merchants.

Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.

Strong strategic thinking, delegation, and capacity development skills.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
